Tarot readings , rune lore & throwing the bones
When sangomas or witchdoctors throws the bones they are looking for information from the ancestors or from the spirit world. When Tarot readers or psychics spreads the tarot cards or runes, or gaze into a crystal ball, they are in effect doing exactly the same. Each card represents something, and when that card is presented in a reading, it will give information to the healer about the client. When a isangoma throws the bones, how they lie, where they lie in relationship to each other, will give information to the healer.
Like runes, throwing the bones requires knowledge, practice, and an intimate relationship with the craft. When a sangoma, or rune reaers, or tarot reader starts to use the tools of their trade they are taught what each card, rune or symbol means. As the practitioner grows in experience and wisdom, those meanings fall away, and the spirit within provides the meaning. Each time a sangoma practices the craft, knowledge and wisdom increases, as does rune practitioners and tarot card readers wisdom.
While psychics and clairvoyants often do not need tools such as bones or runes or tarot cards, a person with no clairvoyant or psychic gifts will need a medium to work through – and that medium, although different in form, is the same – Runes, bones, tarot cards, in fact ay such items, are all tools of the trade for healers. While tarot is often called fortune telling, this is not quite true – although a fortune teller uses a crystal ball as their medium. Runes are said to be oracle, meaning that they do not tell your future (divinatory – predicting outcomes), but rather shows the necessary steps to reach a goal or desired outcome.
You will often find that psychics, mediums and clairvoyants use runes, tarot, or the bones – and sometimes a combination of these tools, to help them in fortune telling or consulting the oracle or the ancestors. These items are tools, and as such hold no inherent power of their own – the power comes through the healer – and is channeled from the spirit world, or from the higher self of the healer.
